Rocktober 17, 2022 - weekly update

Hey internet friend, welcome back to this weekly update post. As always, Black Lives Matter! Also, if you want to just see the dog picture, click here. This weeks post will be pretty short, so let's dive right in.

Probably won't come as a great surprise to read that I spent a bunch of time playing RuneScape 3 (RS3) this weekend. I think I've mentioned before, but one of the things that I like best about it is that you can pick it up and play for as long or as short as you like. Say you only have half an hour to kill before something else is hapening? Well, I can log in and mine some ore, or chop some trees. If I have close to an hour, maybe I can go fight some monsters and finish a slayer quest or two. If I've got a few hours, perhaps I will go work on training my runecrafting, which can be more or less AFK? I spent a bunch of time doing that over the weekend and browsing on Twitter.

Last Friday I made a mistake. I decided it would be smart to get both my COVID-19 Bivalent Booster and a flu shot at the same time. I figured that putting them in different arms would keep me safe. Let me just tell you, internet friend, this wass a mistake! I had my first adverse reaction and ended up puking in the trash can right before dinner. Then on Saturday I felt terrible, took a 3 hour nap, and was not nearly as productive as I would have liked. Somehow I managed to rally on Sunday and spent the day doing the chores and stuff I should have done earlier. While it was good to get the vaccine and flu shot, I really should have not done them on the same day!

There was also a fair amount of hanging out with the kid over the weekend, and that was great. Ultimately it feels like it just went by too fast. Kind of like how this year is going. I am not sure how it is over halfway through October, but here we are!

I suppose that the only other thing I have to report is that I am getting close to finishing the short story book that was written by Phillip K. Dick. If you don't remember that I mentioned it earlier, I have to say again it is absolutely phenominal! I just started the story that the movie Total Recall was based and it is different from the movie but still very good. All of the stories have been excellent, and some of them have really messed with me in a way I didn't think a short story could. I don't know why I am surprised, the last book I was of his was Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and it was also amazing. That's the book upon which Bladerunner was based.

Well, that's about all I have to report this week, internet friend. I hope you have a nice day and a great weekend. Cheers!
